Your Church Does Not Need Another Vision Statement It Cannot Remember
Many churches have a vision statement, but far fewer have a vision that actually shapes decisions. Clear vision should help a church understand where it is going, what matters most, and how its ministries, budget, and leadership priorities fit together. If people cannot remember the vision or use it to guide decisions, the church may need more than better wording.
The Building Is Not the Mission
Churches do not need massive buildings to be faithful or effective. In today’s diverse communities, smaller congregations are leading the way by sharing space, partnering with other ministries, and using their buildings as tools—not trophies. Stewardship of space is a missional issue, and one culture cannot reach every culture. It is time to shift from asking “How do we fill this building?” to “How can this building serve the mission?”
