Pastor Search Survey

Pastor Search Survey

As your church seeks God's direction for its next pastor, the Pastor Search Committee is asking members and regular attenders to prayerfully complete this survey.

Pastors are gifted by God to serve the church in different ways. While every faithful pastor will have some level of ability in preaching, shepherding, administration, and leadership, most pastors are especially gifted in one or two of these areas. Recognizing a church's current needs can help the Pastor Search Committee better match those needs with the strengths of its next pastor.

A. Preaching and Teaching: Clearly communicates God's Word in a way that is faithful, engaging, and transformative.

B. Shepherding and Care: Builds strong relational connections and provides personal spiritual care for individuals and families.

C. Leadership and Vision: Provides direction, mobilizes people, and guides the church toward gospel-centered goals.

D. Administration and Organization: Oversees structures, systems, staff, committees, and resources with wisdom and accountability.

No pastor will be equally strong in all four areas. The Pastor Search Committee is asking the church to prayerfully discern which strengths are most needed in this season of church life. These responses will help identify candidates whose gifting aligns with those needs.

2. Are you a member or regular attender?
5. Which areas need the most attention in our church right now?

Give each area a number from 1 to 4. Use each number only once.

1 = Greatest Need | 4 = Least Need

Please use each number only once.

6. What particular strength do you believe the next pastor will need most in order to help our church as a whole?
10. Will you commit to praying regularly for the Pastor Search Committee throughout this process?

Thank you. Your response has been submitted.
